As we approach 2025, Las Vegas stands at the brink of significant transformation, marked by progress, expansion, and innovation. With so much opportunity, it’s time to make plans and resolutions for the year ahead.

Las Vegas is rapidly becoming a hub for startups, tech companies, and entertainment enterprises.

The city’s favorable tax environment and growing infrastructure have attracted numerous tech startups and will continue to do so. Initiatives like the UNLV Research Foundation’s development of the Harry Reid Research & Technology Park will provide an additional ecosystem for innovation.

The entertainment industry could be making a significant shift into Las Vegas. Warner Bros. Discovery has announced plans to develop a full-service film and television studio in partnership with UNLV, contingent on approval of state tax incentives. Additionally, Sony Pictures, in a partnered flex with actor Mark Wahlberg, has received approval for a $1.8 billion movie studio in Summerlin, further solidifying Las Vegas’s position as a burgeoning entertainment production hub.

Las Vegas is set for strong economic growth in 2025, fueled by a revitalized tourism sector and focused diversification strategies. Visitor numbers are expected to meet or surpass pre-pandemic levels, signaling a complete recovery for the city’s tourism industry. This resurgence is likely to invigorate local businesses and drive new job opportunities.

The convention and events industry is also poised for success, with major trade shows like CES 2025 on the calendar, these high-profile events are projected to generate significant revenue for the local economy and reaffirm Las Vegas’s reputation as a leading hub for business and entertainment.

Early 2025 could bring an official announcement on The Oakland Athletics plans to move here to Vegas, where a $1.5 billion stadium is set to be built on the Las Vegas Strip at the former Tropicana site. Early renderings show the stadium will include a retractable roof and accommodate 33,000 fans. Construction is anticipated to start in early 2025, with the team targeting their first season in Las Vegas by 2028.

This influx of new businesses and developments is expected to enhance the quality of life in Las Vegas. Residents can look forward to increased employment opportunities, a diversified economy, and an elevated cultural scene. The city’s commitment to innovation and growth ensures that Las Vegas remains not only a premier tourist destination but also an attractive place to live and work.
